Birth preparation is a way to arm yourself with the knowledge and decision making tools to have an empowered birth on your terms.

Having a baby is an exciting but stressful time in one’s life. Finding your way through the maze of information can be overwhelming, and at times feel like a task too big to tackle. My goal is to make sure you are informed and involved in the decisions related to your birth. This is done by building your knowledge of and confidence with the childbirth process. My holistic approach to childbirth will help you make sense of the changes happening within your body and guide you through your pregnancy and childbirth experience, whatever that may look like for you.

A postpartum doula provides physical and emotional support after the birth of your baby.

Too often, the needs of the mother are left in the shadows after the birth of the baby. The sole focus becomes that of the child. My aim is to shine a light on the mother…to support her, nourish and nurture her, and listen to her all the while offering non-judgemental support. I not only support the mother, but also help the whole family transition into parenthood as easily, comfortably and happily as possible…whether they are new parents for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time!

We are not meant to parent alone - support is essential for a joyous and easy transition into motherhood. Working with a postpartum doula is an investment in yourself and your family at a crucial, fragile, overwhelming and exciting time in your life.

“Erika was an incredible resource particularly as this was my first baby in a foreign country.”

She was able to provide valuable evidence-based information for me as well as recommendations when it came to hospitals, doctors, specialists, breech babies, spinning babies, c sections, breastfeeding, and more.

Meet Erika

Thailand is where my journey as a doula began. I gave birth to my second daughter in Bangkok and it was here I saw the need and value of a doula and all that she could provide during this time in a woman's life. My own doula was a huge source of inspiration and helped to set me on my current path.

“If a doula were a drug,
it would be unethical not to use it.”

— Dr. John Kennell
